Forget Manhattan. Brooklyn is just a bridge away and rocks just as much as its famous counterpart to say the least. Woody Allen, Notorious B.I.G. and Jerry Seinfeld knew this was the place to be born. The lovely Brooklyn neighbourhood of Boerum Hill is home to The Invisble Dog Art Center, our venue of choice!
The Invisible Dog Art Center
The Invisible Dog, named for the invisible dog leash factory that used to inhabit it in the 1970s, is a new art space located at 51 Bergen Street in Brooklyn. The building has a terrific history and lots of Brooklyn charm. Also known as the venue for Brooklyn Beta (held a week before EECI), we didn't had to think long for it to be our perfect venue as well. Aside from housing the conference, it's also situeated near public transport (Bergen St. station, trains F & G) and dozens of coffee shops, restaurants and bars alike.
How to get there?
Flying into John F. Kennedy (JFK)
This is where most international flights arrive. From here on, you can easily grab a cab and be there in minutes (if NYC traffic cooperates). It's also possible to take the train.
Flying into Newark (EWR)
Both international and domestic flights land here. It's a bit further away from Brooklyn and thus cabs are expensive. It's just as easy and a whole lot cheaper to go by train.
Flying into La Guardia (LGR)
Most domestic flights will land here. Take a (shared) cab into Brooklyn and you'll be there before you know it.
Where to stay?
If you want the full Brooklyn experience, grab an apartment from one of our neighbors on Airbnb. The best neighborhoods are Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn Heights, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, and Fort Greene. Comes with a free Brooklyn accent.
